The locations for the images and widgets are hardcoded into the .MOBI file.

Occasionally, I access the .MOBI file from my laptop to do on the fly edits with the client . I noticed that some of the images and widgets used in the program, as well as the widgets in the left menu disappear if the access location changes: eg from the network vs from the original harddrive.

The only way I found around this problem is to do a search/replace for the drive names and system names in the .MOBI file. This works but is not very safe and very cumbersome.

Is there a way to have the MOBIONE installation location reference to be a variable that can be changed if needed, to keep all file location references functional?

    Thanks, Turgut

    Hi Turgut,

Based on the info you have shared I suspect you are having an issue with custom images from the media palette that you have added to your .mobi files. Is this correct?
If no please share more details or an example .mobi file that has this problem.
If yes, you have 2 options to use the .mobi file on another workstation:
    1) switch from using images on the media palette to regular images from your file system. Regular images are saved into the .mobi file to avoid portability problems.
    2) setup your custom media palette images on each workstation with the same directory location. e.g., c:\mobile\images
