There are many factors that impact app performance, e.g., your device, os version, app’s use of resources and general size, …

Please provide more details about your app and your test environment/devices:

    1) What real and emulated device and OS version are you testing against? Please specify real device/os from emulator environments.

    2) Describe what slow means in precise terms:
(please realize we can’t see your app, your device, … we got nothing to go on atm)?

3)Tell us about your app in detail
    a) what is the size of the apk?
    b) how many screens in your app?
    c) how many images in your screens
    d) do you have embedded audio and/or video in your app? If yes please describe in details including file sizes.

I chatted with dev team about known performance challenges on android. This is an open-ended discussion as there can be a wide range of issues. Starting with android emulator, it is notoriously slow. In most cases it is not a good representative of realtime UX.

We are looking into is the impact of graphics features (e.g., gradients, shadowing…) which appear to affect performance on some android devices/versions. I’m not sure how sucky the UI appearance will be once some of these features are disabled, (tradeoffs …).
