Shankar,
Unfortunately, I can’t tell the exact cause of the issue from the information you provided. For example, I’m not even sure what version of MyEclipse you’re running. However, I’ll do my best to explain how to easily install checkstyle into MyEclipse 7.0
1) Start MyEclipse
2) From the menubar select MyEclipse > Manage MyEclipse Plug-ins…
3) When the dialog opens, see if you have an update available for “Pulse Services”. If you do, select to install that update and allow MyEclipse to restart.
4) Upon restart, select Help > Software Updates > Add/Remove Software…
5) Click the ‘Add’ button in the dialog
6) On the next page, type ‘checkstyle’ into the search box
7) You should see ‘Checkstyle Plug-in’ listed below.
8) Check the box by ‘Checkstyle Plug-in’ and select ‘Next’
9) On the final page click ‘Apply’, accept the licenses and allow MyEclipse to restart
That should do the trick. You can add any additional software you’d like using the same flow, either from the catalog, as we just did for Checkstyle, or any update sites you’d like to add directly. The catalog entries are highly recommended over working driectly with update sites since they are pre-configured to “just work”.
Please let us know if you have any additional questions / problems.
