I’m having some people beta-test an Android version of one of my apps. One tester with an HTC Droid Incredible 2 phone keeps getting an error message along the lines of “the system is unable to parse the app to install it”. This is not happening with other devices.

Any ideas?

Ah, the joys of supporting n versions of vendor customized android…. 🙁

Is the app that you shared with us the only that shows the error message in this HTC Droid? or any app (f.e. empty one)?

I got the impression from my customer that he had not encountered this error before when installing apps.
