Hello,
How can I install RCP and Platform SDK (source code) in MyEclipse 7? I haven’t found update site for these, so i tried to copy features / plugins to dropins directory. I have Pulse 2.4 so I expected it will work, but it didn’t. Same as ResourceBundleEditor – when i copy jar of this plugin to dropins/plugins it doesn’t work (it is not visible in Help/About/Plugin details and in context menu).

I believe the update site you want is this one:
http://download.eclipse.org/releases/ganymede/

Could you give that a try and see if it works? Be sure to remove the contents from /dropins before trying.

I have this update site in MyEclipse (it’s default update site), but there is no platform SDK or RCP SDK or anything else, which could be source code of eclipse runtime.
Source code is available for download.
However finding some other update site wont solve my problem, because I need install ResourceBundleEditor (http://sourceforge.net/projects/eclipse-rbe/) which doesn’t have update site.
On this forum (http://www.myeclipseide.com/PNphpBB2-printview-t-22574-start-0.html) I’ve found, that it will be possible to install downloaded plugin (last post).

So my question is: How can I install downloaded plugin to MyEclipse?

I have another problem with updates – cannot install Eclipse BIRT Doc from update site.
Here is my procedure:

Help->Software updates->Add/Remove software

Add..->Public sites/Eclipse 3.4 (Ganymede) discovery/Charting and Reporting/Eclipse BIRT Doc

After clicking Apply, some validation errors occurrs:

Cannot complete the install because some dependencies are not satisfiable

You aren’t doing anything wrong, you cannot install BIRT into MyEclipse because we already ship MyEclipse Reports, which is based on BIRT.

As far as how to install the plugins without an update site, you can just use the dropins technique outlined here:

I downloaded and installed MyEclipse 7.1 today. Clean install on a clean Windows XP SP3 (VMWare VM).

I checked for and installed updates.

Then I tried to add RCP:
Help->Software updates->Add/Remove software
Add..->Public sites/Eclipse 3.4 (Ganymede) discovery->Uncategorized->Eclipse RCP
Next->Apply

An unexpected error occurred validating the selected profile.
Reason: Cannot complete the install because some dependencies are not satisfiable

And the details list view has a long list of items like this:

From the errors it looks like the problem is that the RCP plugins trying to be installed are from the new Eclipse 3.4.2 release, MyEclipse 7.1 is based on Eclipse 3.4.1, we are working on a 3.4.2 update shortly for our next release — I would suggest you grab the RCP bundle download from the eclipse website that was for Eclipse 3.4.1 and use /dropins to install it.
