Given a new install of Eclipse SDK 3.2.1 and installing MyEclipse version 5.5 M1 as a trial, after install when you run MyEclipse or Eclipse, there is a cycle to finish installing MyEclipse.
During this launch, I get the Eclipse IDE, a “Subscription Key Information” dialog, and an “Incomplete MyEclipse Installation” dialog. The only dialog that will recieve focus is the “Incomplete…” dialog and after you click OK there, you are left with the other two windows that will not receive focus and cannot be operated on. From this point, you can do nothing but kill the Eclipse and subordinate javaw processes using the Task Manager.
I’ve tried tricks to get focus to a hidden dialog and nothing I’ve tried works. It appears the two dialogs are both modal and closing the one I can access doesn’t unblock the first. Using Microsoft Spy I can see that after I close the “Incomplete…” dialog, it still exists on the system, but is just not visible.
