I have downloaded MyEclipse Bling, and I am trying to install the Google plugin for Eclipse but having a hard time. I have downloaded the Google plugin here: http://code.google.com/eclipse/docs/install-from-zip.html (version 3.6). I have unzipped the contents to a folder so that there is a PLUGINS folder and a FEATURES folder. I moved these 2 folders under the DROPINS folder my MyEclipse installation. When I started MyEclipse, is shows in the start up that the Google plugin items have been “successfully” installed, but I do not see the Google “New Web Application Project” anywhere.
I then tried to add the plugin as a new site under the MyEclipse Configuration Center – Software tab. I can add the pugin as a new site pointing to my local folder where I unzipped the downloaded plugin from Google. Once it shows up on the left under “Personal Sites”, I can expand each item and see “Google Plugin for Eclipse…”, “SDKs” and so on. I then add them to the right under “My Software” and then click on the “Managed Changes”. Once I do this, it is unsuccessful with the following:
Bad update sites
Missing requirement: Google Plugin for Eclipse 3.6….
Cannot satisfy dependency….
Cannot satisfy dependency….
I reason that I am trying to perform a local install of the plugin vs. doing it over the internet is because my client is in a locked down environment with no connection out.
