    Hello,

Sorry if this is answered elsewhere, but when I start the MyEclipse configuration center, it doesn’t show that I have any updated software to install.

Is the MyEclipse 9 install something I have to do … manually?

    Thanks in advance.

    Mork,

As the base Eclipse version of ME 8.6 and ME 9.0 are not the same, the update to ME 9.0 is not shown in the Configuration Center.

You can download the All-In-One installer for ME 9.0 Alternatively, you can use pulse to download.

    Here are the steps –

    1. Open pulse(If you don’t have pulse, download the same from http://www.poweredbypulse.com)
    2. Login to pulse
    3. Select “Eclipse – Helios” realm from top left hand corner dropdown
    4. Click and expand – Ready to use profiles > Popular
    5. From the right hand pane, right click on “MyEclipse 9” and click on [run]
    6. This will open a wizard which will guide you through the rest of the steps.

Let me know how this works for you.

Is there a manual for what directory contents, configuration files, etc need to be transferred over from the 8.6 install to the 9.0 install? For example, I have the Oxygen plugin installed in 8.6 and would like to use it in 9.0. Also please advise whether these transfer details are managed automagically by the pulse install vs. the all-in-one approach.

    Thanks much,
    Gary

    Gary,

The base install of ME 8.6 is different than ME 9. You need to install ME 9 afresh, you can use either all-in-one approach / pulse. Pulse install is faster as it opens multiple threads to download. You need to re-add all the plugins to ME 9. Please ensure you verify the compatibility of the plugin with Eclipse 3.6.1.
You can export your preferences from ME 8.6 and import to ME 9. Here are the steps –
    1. Open MyEclipse IDE (8.6) > File > Export > General > Preferences and follow the wizard
    2. Open MyEclipse IDE (9.0) > File > Import > General > Preferences and follow the wizard
