I’m having an interesting problem. After deciding to use the new version of Eclipse I erased my existing MyEclipse setup, downloaded the new Eclipse, then tried setting up MyEclipse again.

Now Eclipse starts up just fine, I can see there are new eclipse modules available … but I see no MyEclipse settings available and there is no MyEclipse perspective.

Any clues?

Thanks

tried setting up MyEclipse again.

Can you specify exactly how you did that, as there are a few mechanisms? I’d suggest just taking a clean Eclipse installation and using the platform-specific installer.

Also, can you please post all the information we request in the Posting Guidelines thread at the top of this forum? That will give us some context so that we can determine if this is an installation issue or a configuration problem. Thanks.

ttrostel,
It sounds like what Scott is getting at: a barfed install. You can check the Help > About page for traces of ME, or the Window > Preferences page too… if things are not as they should be, the install is likely messed up. Also make sure you aer downloading the SDK, not the platform for Eclipse.

Actually it helps if you download the right Eclipse package to start with. The mirrors aren’t very clear and they seem not to have syncronized ALL files with the main site. I thought it looked a little too small!

Some people would blame a severe lack of caffinated beverages yesterday. I blame my cat. She hides my socks in the morning too!
