    Ben,
Can you tell us what version of Eclipse, MyEclipse, JDK, and (if applicable) App Server you are running? What were you doing when this happened? What was the expected behavior?

    eclipse 3.0 m7
    myeclipse 3.7.1
    jdk 1.4.2
    jboss 3.2

from reading/watching the web development tutorial, i saw that there was an integrated browser for use in debugging, by clicking on the “preview” tab. i have been unable to find this preview tab, even copying exactly what the tutorial does. so it wasn’t an error so much as i just couldnt find it. i got the error clicking on the “MyEclipse > MyEclipse Home” menu item. Since I got an error on this, I assumed that I dont have the internal browser enabled or configured correctly, and thats why there is no preview tab where Im expecting it. I guess I shouldnt be making assumption about something I know so little about 😉

Ahhh… the “Internal Browser” is the embedded Web Browser component in Eclipse. You can actually access it under Show View > Update Manager. On Windows its a wrapper around IE, and on Unix there is no equivalent for 2.x series, but in the 3.x series they are testing a wrapper around Mozilla, however it is flaky at best.

Try and open that view and see if you get anything to show up, if you don’t you can setup a different default browser here: Window > Preferences > Install/Update, and also look under Window > Preferences > Help.

Note that I’m using 2.x series, so it may be drastically different for 3.x
