Requested operation cannot be performed because it would invalidate the current configuration. See details for more information.
    Eclipse RCP Patch 2 for 3.3.1 (3.3.1.v20071204_331) requires feature “org.eclipse.rcp (3.3.1.R33x_r20070802-8y8eE8sEV3Fz0z0GlHJrXvTAUS)”.
    Eclipse RCP Patch 3 for 3.3.1 (3.3.1.v20080102_331) requires feature “org.eclipse.rcp (3.3.1.R33x_r20070802-8y8eE8sEV3Fz0z0GlHJrXvTAUS)”.

As soon as I update a new clean install I recieve the above message.

The error suggests you need to apply the Eclipse RPC patches before you install any other updates.

Can you switch to a new workspace (File > Switch Workspace > Temp) and now try updating again. Do you get the same error?

yes same error with new workspace. I completed the new install, ran the update, myeclipse “said” to load the myeclipse features. rebooted. ran update and recieved the error listed in the original message. I cannot see a way to run JUST the Eclipse RCP patches at this point.

I uninstalled and defragmented the drive. I rebooted and then re-installed MyEclipse. I ignored the quick install and attempted to update the IDE but the Eclipse RCP items are red X’ed. I have a sceenshot but cannot POST the image in the forum. If an admin will give me a email, I will send the screenshot to assist in troubleshooting. Anybody got any ideas?

Do you mean the MyEclipse 6.0.1 All in one installer?

    With NEW workspace:
    Eclipse RCP Patch 1 for 3.3.1 (3.3.1.v20080102_331) requires feature “org.eclipse.rcp (3.3.1.R33x_r20070802-8y8eE8sEV3Fz0z0GlHJrXvTAUS)”.

Disable: The feature is not removed by this action.

The current configuration contains errors and this operation can have unpredictable results.
    Eclipse RCP Patch 3 for 3.3.1 (3.3.1.v20080102_331) requires feature “org.eclipse.rcp (3.3.1.R33x_r20070802-8y8eE8sEV3Fz0z0GlHJrXvTAUS)”.

    rgparis,
As I understand it these patches were for Eclipse 3.3.1, but your using Eclipse 3.3.2, so you don’t need to apply them. The patches are already included in Eclipse 3.3.2.

I’m using myeclipse 6.6 and I get this error:

    Problems occurred restoring perspective.
    Could not find view: com.genuitec.eclipse.ast.deploy.core.serverview
    Could not create view: com.genuitec.eclipse.sqlexplorer.views.DatabaseView
    Could not create view: com.genuitec.eclipse.sqlexplorer.views.DatabaseView
    Could not find view: com.genuitec.eclipse.sqlexplorer.views.DatabaseView

    What should I do?
I’ve just installed EMF and i get issue.

Can you go to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details and paste it here for me.

It seems like the plugin is causing the issue here. Can you check if there is any additional information logged under <workspace>/.metadata/.log file.
