I’m trying to install my app to an Ipad 2. It installs fine to my Iphone 4. I’ve selected the option to make the app compatible to both platforms and also tried generating a version specific to the Ipad to no avail. Any thoughts on what to check?

Hi aviator, What error is it throwing? Silly question but have you made sure the device has been added to the provisioning profile?
Are you making aviation apps? Its an area i work in so just curious!

Hi Paul,
Thank you for your input. Indeed it was the device that needed to be added to my provisioning. I now want to know how to make the application available to my user base. Not looking to publish it to the iTunes store as it’s a private app. I don’t however want to add all the devices individually to my certificate. Do you have any input?
Regarding the aviation question. I am a BeechJet Capt. My ‘other’ professional background for about 40 years was information technology. Founded a couple of consulting companies. Coded “old school” languages ASM, Cobol, Fortran for many years and also fumbled my way through unix scripts later in life. I’m a full time pilot now for an executive charter company. I also handle all the IT stuff. Getting back into the swing of things with some lite coding and guiding the company through IT strategies. As a pilot and ‘geek’ I bring a perspective to the company of leveraging technology.
I’d be interested in hearing what you develop.

Your options for distributing native IOS apps are limited to be honest. You either use the itunes store or ad hoc provisioning which as you know you get the 100 devices.
I think apple do offer a corperate distribution but i should imagine that its not cheap, but ive not looked into it.
You could distribute a web app with app cache support so it runs offline. It might be the easiest option for you. It will have all the functionallity of a native app although there are subtle differences such as opening urls and remembering app settings.
