    Hello,

Do I need a Mac to upload and sell my app in Apple’s App Store? Can I do that in MobiOne?

    Thanks,
    Robert

You will need a mac to upload your binary to the app store. The Application uploader only is available on mac.

Its not a mobione thing, all windows based IOS development have the same issue. You can use appstoreuploader.com as a alternative or if you google there are other methods…….

    Hope that helps

    Hi Rob,

Complementing the info that Paul shared about appstoreuploader, you might want to see next thread with more information about it:

    Hi there,

Let’s say I already built my app as a native iOS app (not an web app), can I load this into my iPhone and use this app as native or do I need to put it in apple’s app store?

If so, does MobiOne allow me to load my native app on my iPhone without using app store?

Also, How about Android? Does Android charge a developer’s fee too (like apple charges $99)?

If you have the Apple developers licence, all your certificates and private key are in place and have built the app using a distribution ad hoc provisioning profile, you can install the app on your phone as long as the UUID device number is logged with Apple. If you Google ‘finding UUID number’ you will find various ways to do this. You are allowed up to 100 devices for testing purposes but you must show these devices and their UUID numbers in the ‘Devices’ section of the ‘Developer’ website. When you build the app your ‘provisioning profile’ must show which devices you want it to install on.
When you submit your app for inclusion in the app store you create a different distribution provisioning profile for app store submission with no devices listed, then apple will decide if it is accepted or not (this is the part you need the Mac for, to upload the .ipa file to iTunes Connect). I bought a Mac Mini that connects to my PC monitor and a Bluetooth keyboard, it does the job.
Android developers licence is $25 and the process is a lot less complicated but you still need to produce some hi res graphics and screen shots as you do with apple.
A word of warning, if you get a third party to upload your binaries you have to give them your apple username and password, this would worry me but I suppose you can change the password after.
