I’m running Eclipse 2.1.3 and just downloaded and installed the corresponding trial MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench plugin. For some reason, the controls are not available under in the Window menu>Customize Perspective>Other window.

What could possibly be the problem?

    Thanks, 😕

Hmm, check your Help > About page, do you see a MyEclipse icon? Check your Window > Preferences dialog, do you see MyEclipse preferences? Also check your log file for errors, its located in <workspace dir>\.metadata\.log

There is no MyEclipse icon anywhere except for a desktop icon. There is only one error with today’s timestamp in the .log file:

    ” !ENTRY org.eclipse.core.launcher 4 0 Jul 28, 2004 13:52:54.288
!MESSAGE Exception launching the Eclipse Platform:
    !STACK
    java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException
    at sun.reflect.NativeMethodAccessorImpl.invoke0(Native Method)”

    In addition, MyEclipse_Enterprise_Workbench_v2.8-Beta1_InstallLog.log says:

    ” Summary
    ——-

    Installation: Successful with warnings.

    2119 SUCCESSES
    1 WARNINGS
    0 NONFATAL ERRORS
    0 FATAL ERRORS …”

I don’t have a clue how to proceeed!

    Lets do a sanity check:

    1) Do you have multiple versions of Eclipse installed?
    2) What happens when you double click the MyEclipse icon on your desktop? Do you see MyEclipse in the Help > About menu?
    3) If you navigate to the <eclipse install dir>\links directory, do you have a file in that directory? What is it called? If you view it with Notepad, what is its contents?
    4) Where did you install MyEclipse to?
    5) What OS are you running? What JDK do you have installed?

    1) I only have one version of Eclipse installed (V2.1.3). Installed in “C:\eclipse”.
    2) The “Help About” menu displays Eclipse. It does display MyEclipse anywhere.
    3) File name is “com.genuitec.eclipse.MyEclipse.link”. Content is “path=C:\\Program Files\\MyEclipse”
    4) Installed in: “C:\Program Files\MyEclipse”
    5) NT 4.0 – jdk1.3.1_05

Ok shut down eclipse, go into your <workspace>\.metadata directory and erase your .config directory, then start Eclipse again, did that do the trick? Can you try a newer JDK?

Deleting the .config directory did the trick!

    Thanks for following thru.
