Last time I tried it, the Xdoclet bundled with 3.8.4 barfed on the Java 5.0 syntax extensions, particularly the syntax for generics. Is there any reason to believe that the new 3.8.4M6 beta works any better with Java 5.0, or do I just need to be a bit more patient? The new and noteworthy stuff on 3.8.4M6 doesn’t seem to say anything about this issue.

Xdoclet does not yet support Java5 syntax.

Once that PR closes and they release a version with support for java5 syntax you can download the new release and update your myeclipse install with the new libraries. Also, if they release the new version soon maybe we can squeeze the new version in the next release.
