When opening a typescript file in webclipse (eclipse IDE), I receive an eclipse error message:

Opening TypeScript file with tsserver…’ has encountered a problem.
An internal error occurred during: “Opening TypeScript file with tsserver…”.

    Details:

An internal error occurred during: “Opening TypeScript file with tsserver…”.
    java.lang.NullPointerException

Note that I do NOT have TomCat server installed. Could this be the problem? I’m using php and Apache 2.4 to serve up json responses.

    Thanks

    Mark,

Sorry that you are seeing this issue.

Can you please clarify if you have installed the TypeScript IDE plugin in addition to Webclipse in your Eclipse install? https://marketplace.eclipse.org/content/typescript-ide

If yes, then please uninstall the TypeScript IDE plugin and check if the issue persists.

    Apologies for inconvenience caused.

    The following was uninstalled:

    TypeScript Core
    TypeScript JSON Editors
    TypeScript Validator

    This issue no longer persists.

    Thanks
