Have you copied the hibernate libraries into your project, instead of them being libraries on your build path? That way no matter what you try, when you deploy the project it includes the old/wrong libraries.
If you’re still having this problem – check the project properties and go to the libraries tab – see if there are jar files listed there. In my case I removed all the jars, but maybe you could just delete the collections jar. It got me going – hope it helps you.
