I used to be able to go to a method and type /** then enter and the javadocs would be partly generated for a method. I seem to have lost that capability. I restored the defaults settings but with no luck. Any Idea? Thanks.

That’s a preference setting under Window > Preferences > Java > Code Style. Check those settings along with the ones on the Code Templates sub-page and the project-specific settings as well. One of them is likely the cause.
