Are there any plans to improve the JavaScript editor? Some things I’m missing:

    1. Recognition of this.methodName and this.propertyName in outline view
    2. Different syntax highlighting for comments and javadoc comments
    3. Document formatting
    4. Correct indenting (e.g. unindent at new line after closing bracket)
    5. Content assist of ECMA objects
    6. Content assist in current class/context (recognizing inner functions etc.)
    7. Report errors as you type, missing semicolons etc.

Moving towards 5.0 and later we are going to push support for AJAX big time which will implicitly mean better JS editing. For the time being we are sorry for the inconvenience.

Since I use Eclipse intensively as Javascript editor, I would like to support these improvement suggestions.

I hope these improvements for the Javascript editor can be implemented sooner that later. Our large project has recently turned into tons of AJAX and JS Classes that use the this.propertyName notation. With MyEclipse 4 not having the outline view recognize these properities and functions is a big problem. Thanks
