I used the Eclipse update site to move from 4.03 to 4.1 M1 (which I validated occurred correctly by checking the About MyEclipse status after the update)…

Unfortunately none of the cool new Javascript launch configuration features seem to show up. I have tried all the usual tricks (restart with -clean, brand spanking new workspace, etc and nothing seems to help).

When I bring up the Run… dialog the JavaScript launcher does not show up as an available run/debug launch configuration…

Any ideas on how to go about debugging something like this? I am really intrigued by the JS features in 4.1 but am so sad 😥 that I can’t make them work….

FWIW I am running Eclipse 3.1.1 on Windows XP

We are in the final stages of QA on 4.1 Milestone 2 which will have all kinds of brand spanking new features for Javascript development. One of them will be the ability to debug your javascript applications! Just a little more time, until its all ready.

    Michael,
I believe this is a case of mistaken identity, all that JS debugging work in the New and Noteworthy section are comming in the M2 release, which has been BEATEN within an inch of it’s life internally (lots of testing, lots of bug fixing). Like Greg said, very soon (like any day soon).

Thanks again guys — solid work both from a product perspective as well as support.

BTW what script engine is used underneath the covers with the Javascript stuff? Rhino?

Not sure. When we release it have a look-see.

Is there any version of MyEclipse released that will do JavaScript source formatting?

    Marrotte,

No, no release does that yet – but the upcoming 4.1M2 release will 🙂

    Best,
    Brian.

    Brian:

    Thanks for the feedback…

Is there any way to get any early copy of 4.1M2?

If not, what’s your best guess for the 4.1M2 release?
