I have been trying to get JBoss added to MyEclipse for most of the week without success. Here is what I have on the system…

    Eclipse-3.1
    MyEclipse-4.0GA
    JBoss-4.0.1
    Tomcat-5.0.25
    JDK-1.4.2

I know I am suppose to have JBoss controls for MyEclispe but I cannot find them any where. In order to deploy the WAR file I should have the RUN PACKAGING option for the project, which is not in the pull down listing.

I have gone through the Application Deployment and Server Management Quickstart help and Working with Web Projects Quickstart. Each mention JBoss and indicate that it is possible to do what I want but nothing more. I followed the instructions in the Server help so JBoss is setup as a server but nothing more.

    Please help,

    Jef

    Jef,

The Application Server Quickstart in Section 5 goes over setting up server for use in MyEclipse. It’s the same set of pages for JBoss 4.

In order to deploy the WAR file I should have the RUN PACKAGING option for the project, which is not in the pull down listing.

I’m not sure what you’re expecting here. Deployment should look like what’s shown in Working with Web Projects Section 7. There’s no ‘RUN PACKAGING’ mentioned anywhere, so I’m not sure what you’re referring to.

    Eclipse-3.1

What is your Build ID? (Help > About)

    MyEclipse-4.0GA

What is your Build ID? (Window > Prefs > MyEclipse)

I followed the instructions in the Server help so JBoss is setup as a server but nothing more.

Where is JBoss unzipped to? You setup your home dir and made sure to tick the “Enabled” radio button at the top of the JBoss connector settings right?

Let’s try something after you do the above:

    1) File > New > Project > Web Project > (name) TestWeb > Finish
    2) Click deployment button in toolbar, add new deployment, TestWeb > JBoss, hit OK
    3) Click the app server button, JBoss 4 > Start

Did it start up OK? If not, paste the startup console messages hjere for me.
