If I’m working in the JSF editor on a JSP file and I add something to the JSP file like a tag from the JSF menu, then move my mouse up to the design portion of the split screen, I get a waving cursor hand (telling me “No!”) and all the controls in the palette are disabled.

This behavior is simple to reproduce if you play with the split-screen JSF editor.

The only thing I’ve been able to do to get around what appears to be out of sync windows is to refresh the display with the refresh button.

Of course, then MyEclipse goes nuts with it’s “Updating this…” and “Updateing that…” messages.

Am I missing something here?

I’m wondering, based on my experiences, why MyEclipse doesn’t keep the two views (Design/Code) synchronized automatically?

In situations like this exact code snippets of your page and what you added are more helpful than anything. There is just too much volumn on the list to convert everyone’s “When I write HTML, it seems slow” statements into concrete examples filed for the developers to fix.

If you get a chance, please post your page code, wrapped in code blocks, along with what you added in the Source view to cause it freak out.

I would add that the two views *should* automatically stay in sync, so your use of a particular tag might have uncovered a specific bug that we need to fix.

Hi,

The tags were from my using the JSF Demo.

If you work through the JSF demo in split screen mode, and you keep moving your mouse up to the design area, it won’t take you long before you get the moving hand telling you things aren’t quite right.
