    Hi,

Since the set of JSF controls that come with MyEclipse (at least in 4.0.3) is fairly rudementary, I hope the 4.1 release will have the facility for me to import or otherwise “bring in to MyEclipse” the third party controls I’ll need to add to the base set of tools.

Calendar controls, tree controls, and such, if not included in 4.1 should be able to be imported once I obtain them from a third party (or write them myself).

I know there’s a lot of work for any release, but for JSF to be really useful in MyEclipse, I’ll need to be able to extend the basic set of controls offered.

    Thanks.

    Mork,
I don’t believe importing controls into the designer is going to be in the 4.1 release specifically, but I do know that work has already started on it so it is a feature that *will* be in MyEclipse at some point regardless of slipping 4.1 or not.

    THanks for your reply.

Except for learning the basics, I don’t see how JSF can be very useful in MyEclipse without being able to import and use other controls <s>.

You should also be able to drag and drop controls on the form simply. The 4.0.3 implementation makes me wonder if I’m saving any time at all.

I don’t mean to sound negative (I’m a big MyEclipse fan). MyEclipse will get it right, I’m sure. I just hope it’s sooner rather than later.

IMHO, it’s worth slipping 4.1 to get a really usable JSF capability.

    Thanks for listening.
