I have installed the MyEclipse 3.8.4 beta version for Eclipse SDK 3.1 version.

I have saved it in the C:\Program Files\MyEclipse folder. But that folder contains only these particular folders and files

    1) features folder
    2) plugin folder
    3) .eclipseextension
    4) MyEclipseSplash.bmp

Nothing else. Was the installation done in a proper way? Do I need to install it again?

    This is kind of urgent.

    Thanks,
    Archana.

    Archana,
MyEclipse is built ontop of Eclipse, so when you install MyEclipse it does two things:
    1) Creates a directory where it puts all it’s files (which you have noted above)
    2) It addes an “Extension Point” hook into your current Eclipse install to let Eclipse know that a new extension is there. So next time you load up Eclipse, MyEclipse will be part of the environment.

So go fire up Eclipse, Window > Open Perspective > MyEclipse, viola!

I have installed myEclipse 3.8.4 for eclipse 3.0. I see the icon on the desktop. When I open up myEclipse, it opens up like eclipse before, but no trace of myEclipse. It doesn’t have the myEclipse perspective. Do I have to do anything special to get the myEclipse working.
