I’m sorry for the inconvenience, but what you’re seeing now is actually the desired behavior and is a fix to 3.7.
The root of the problem is that if we allowed multiple instances to be run with the same key it would be possible to set up a large server and have an entire team run MyEclipse on it remotely on only a single license. I know that’s not what you’re doing, but your case is impossible to distinguish from the server case. In addition, our license is really per instance per user. So while you’re licensed to run MyEclipse on any machine you choose at any time, you cannot run two instances using the same key simultaneously. This allows you to use MyEclipse at work and at home on different machines, but prevents you from using MyEclipse at work or at home on two machines simultaneously, or even one machine simultaneously as you’ve discovered.
Again, I apologize if this seems overly inconvenient, but I think you’ll find that most Windows applications operate the same way, that is launching only one instance. If you’d like additional clarification or to provide feedback, the best avenue to do that would be to our subscription department at subscriptions@genuitec.com. If you choose to do that, please include the URL for this thread so that they understand the context of your comments.
