I’m already a subscriber of MyEclipse, however, I read this article: http://www.infoworld.com/MyEclipse_Enterprise_Workbench_3.8.3/product_54014.html?view=1&curNodeId=7&index=1

If you look at the end of the article, it reads: <i>In this review, we originally misstated yearly subscription information. In fact, although the price includes one year of updates, the license does not expire. The error has been corrected.</i>

I’m wondering if it is indeed the case, that when the yearly subscription ends “MyEclipse” is still functional.

I’m a subscriber too. I consider my license one of the best purchases made in a long time. Even if the “license” doesn’t expire in a year they can certainly count on another $30 from me when my subscription ends. If we don’t encourage the good ones … what will be left?

Summary: It won’t stop functioning, we aren’t in the business of leaving our customers high and dry or forcing them into any decisions. So our plan is to entice renewed subscriptions with cool tools, as opposed to vendor-lockin.
