    Gentlemen,

Is there any way to license MyEclipse behind a firewall without having to use your Secure Delivery Center software?

    Many thanks in advance.

    apoloni,

Yes, certainly – the only issue you might face when working behind a firewall with MyEclipse is the inability to activate your installation. There are a couple of ways in which MyEclipse can be activated in such a situation, please have a look at our activation FAQ: https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/activation-activating-your-installation/

Do let us know if you have further questions.

    apoloni,

Since you are a long time MyEclipse user, I would appreciate it you could answer a couple of additional questions:

    1) You seemed to think that if you wanted to use MyEclipse behind a firewall, you had to use Secure Delivery Center too. This is certainly not the case as I pointed out earlier; could you tell us what led you to this conclusion?

    2) Why do you not want to use Secure Delivery Center? I’m assuming it is because you only have a few licenses and you don’t need the features provided. Any further reasons or comments?

    Brian,

Yes, I’ve been a subscriber for a long time and love the product. 🙂

Unfortunately I work in a space where the licensing is taken care of at a corporate level and developers have been told `that they (corporate) are looking into the licensing issue` now that MyEclipse requires INet activation. I think the issue is that corporate, who purchased the site license, hasn’t done their homework into figuring out how to enable developers to license as needed nor have they made plans to purchase and host the Secure Delivery Center software.

Long story short, developers are on their own in our space, hence my question. 🙂

    Andy
