    We have buttons that link to PDF files, which are located in the root of the web app file location.

    When we open a PDF, let’s say in the “same window,” and using a cached app situation, what sort of link do we put into the PDF document head area that would take the viewer “Back” to the previous page, or to a target destination?

    What would be idea is a javascript Back -1 type action, or a link back to an internal target in the apps html file.

    Challenging enough????

    We are welcoming and accepting ideas, suggestions or alternative solutions.

    Ive never tired it but Ive heard of people using javscript in pdfs, so try:

    history.go(-1);

    To go back

    Giving that a try now …

    Will post results, one way or another regarding success.

    One initial problem is the PDF button doesn’t have “tap” functions, so elected “Mouse Down” as the action that triggers the event.

    Just noticed that Acrobat XI has features for using PDF’s on mobile devices.

    Will acquire that version and then get back to this test.
