I did an update via update and install (i think that’s what it is called) off the Help menu. It offers a download of workbench_3.9.310 jar. Is that the same as the M3 version newly posted today? I am using eclipse 3.1 and M2 currently.

Yes, 3.9.310 is the build number of 4.0M3. We’re reserving 4.0.0 for 4.0GA on 8/29 and we need to keep the build numbers increasing numerically for the update mechanism to work properly. You can go ahead and update – you’re at the right spot.
