I was asked to post this here:

Same thing happens when I attempt to deploy a war file to the MyEclipse Sandbox Tomcat, Tomcat instance or custom location. I’m including Hibernate jars, and various other jars.

No matter where I try to deploy I get the following errors:

“Deployment is out of date due to changes in the underlying project contents. You’ll need to manually ‘Redeploy’ the project to update the deployed archive.”

    Deploying exploded works fine.

This is a big problem for me and I need help ASAP.

I’ve completely removed all deployments and checked the Tomcat locations. As I said, it doesn’t even work with a custom deployment to the file system.

    Thanks,
    Frank

    Frank,
When you undeploy your application, can you please make sure the application is removed from the Tomcat / Webapps folder before redeploying it.

What message is getting logged under <workspace>/.metadata/.log file ?

I found that after I remove a deployment, right click on the project and “Refresh” and then change the deployment type (war vs. exploded) it works.

As I reported in the other forum this is an obscure nuance and MyEclipse should do this automatically.

So I have it working now, as long as I remember to refresh the project in switching deployment types.

I’ll make a note of this. Glad you got it to work.
