How does one make a small, windows executable file after completing a Java project in MyEclipse? Is there a way to do it within MyEclipse, or do you need a native compiler. I’ve found a tool called exe4j. Would that work? Thanks in advance.

    Bob,

We don’t provide any tools to generate an exe from a java application since MyEclipse is targeted at building J2EE applications, which run in application servers of various types. If you’d like that type of functionality, an add-on product would be needed. At present, I’m not aware of any Eclipse-based tools that do this, however.

    bigbob,
exe4j I believe is one, one of the more popular ones out there is the JET Compiler, its pretty impressive and does a good job of creating native executables. It is commercial though.

I’m not aware of any open source exe generators though.
