The initial cut of Maven support will be in 6.5, just to manage expectations accordingly though, the default MyEclipse project structures will still be in place and a few other things. We are making this change incrementally. It wlil improve in 7.x release train.

Can you provide any information as to what features will be supported? Will the MyEclipse deployer understand how to deploy m2eclipse dependencies properly, so that dependencies marked as test or provided will not make it through?

We will get a feature list together shortly, but I just want to make it clear that the entirety of Maven support will not be there in 6.5, as I mentioned this si the first cut of an ongoing effort moving forward.

For anyone that didn’t see the updates downloads (we haven’t sent the newsletter out yet), Maven support went into 6.5, it’s a MyEclipse-flavor of Maven and the beginning of more to come support for Maven. You can read more about it in the New and Noteworthy here:
    http://www.myeclipseide.com/module-htmlpages-display-pid-361.html#

We also created a forum specifically for Maven here:
    https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topics/myeclipse/maven-for-myeclipse/

please be sure to post and questions or comments there to keep us honest, we do want to hear people’s feedback and make sure we are helping you guys work.

There are a few limitations out of the gate with this first cut though, it’s only for new projects and we don’t support some of the more common Maven project layouts just yet, so your projects do have to stay pretty much MyEclipse projects in their standard layout, and then you get the Maven magic.
