I tried to go with ME 7.1, but everyone knows the install hell that’s been lately. I tried to go BACK to 6.6. Initially, to get to ME 6.6 I just did the software update from within the IDE. Since I had uninstalled and removed all of the other files I had to download the 6.6 install.
I have tried for over a day now to get it started. It takes FOREVER! My point of this post is that it looks like this hell started before ME 7.1.
Hope this sheds some light on anything you guys at ME are trying!

We used a completely different installer software for 6.6 — it was InstallShield based. There could be some other issue at your end that is making 6.6 slow. What OS are you on?
