drscovillParticipantI have installed ME 7.0 then updated to 7.1.1 and am experiencing noticable lag with right click context operations and opening files. ME 5.5 does not have this issue.

support-joyMemberHi drscovill,
Sorry to hear you are experiencing performance delays. To help me reproduce this at my end, can you do the following –
1. copy and paste your installation detail. You need to go to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Detail
2. When you experience the time lag on right click, can you tell me how many projects have you opened in ME 7.1.1 and what is the approximate file size, similarly how many projects have you opened in ME 5.5 and what is the project size? What are the type of projects ,etc, If you can elaborate in detail and help me reproduce, I can have the dev team investigate this further.Thank you for your help.

Teun HoogendoornMemberHi,
I’m also experiencing a performance delay after upgrading to MyEclipse 7.1.1 (from MyEclipse 6.0). Startup is faster,
but editing a java/jsp file takes a lot more time (code completion, saving). Also… double clicking on a file in the package explorer does not always open the
requested file, but gives focus on an already open file (this is very annoying). Thanks,
Teun Hoogendoorn

support-joyMemberdrscovill,
Thank you for the details provided. I will have a dev team member assist you on this.Teun Hoogendoorn,
Sorry to hear you are running into performance issue. Can you copy and paste your installation details? You need to go to MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Detail. Also What is the type of projects that you usually work on? What is the file size? Can you find out if there are any processes running which are occupying a lot of system resources? If you can elaborate in detail on the steps to reproduce this at my end, i can get a clear picture and have a dev team member assist you on this. Sorry for the inconvinience.March 24, 2009 at 3:18 am #296591

GregMemberHello,
We’d like to check your memory settings to make sure they are in correct order. Could you paste the contents of your myeclipse.ini file here? It should be in the same directory as the myeclipse.exe file.
Thanks

Loyal WaterMemberGuys,
We thought we had fixed this for 7.1 but since you’ll are still facing this problem, I’m filing this for further investigation.April 22, 2009 at 8:54 am #297783
elainequeencastleMemberI’m also experiencing EXTREME slowness with 7.1.1 (7.0 was slow too). It really feels bloated and barely usable now. I’ve told my team not to upgrade until the issues are resolved. I’m very disappointed with this release (the first time for me that Genuitec has really dropped the ball).
Double-clicking something takes 2-3 seconds before the IDE responds. Saving even a small file takes 15-20 seconds with CPU maxed the entire time (and after it saves the file then it goes through the validators). Also my “Problems” view never shows anything, even though I see my projects are all compiling.
I have the exact same workspace I had in version 5 and in version 6, both of which performed very well.
I have 58 projects:
2 ears
5 wars
~20 spring enabled with default validators turned on for that-startup

Loyal WaterMemberelainequeencastle,
The dev team is working on improving the performance for our users and we will get this fixed for the 7.5 release. Sorry for the inconvenience. -
