i downloaded the 6.6 update site file and unzipped to a directory.

I pointed eclipse at the local directory and used the ‘classic’ update manager to install it.

When I restarted eclipse all f the MyEclipseIde workbench was missing. I lookedin the config manager and saw that the MyEclipse workbench had a red cross against it. Expanding the tree gave a rroblem on Maven4MyEclipse and on looking at the status I got the following:

No plug-in: “com.genuitec.eclipse.maven” included at runtime.
No plug-in: “org.maven.ide.components.maven_model_edit” included at runtime.
No plug-in: “org.maven.ide.eclipse” included at runtime.
No plug-in: “org.maven.ide.eclipse.scm” included at runtime.
No plug-in: “org.maven.ide.eclipse.jdt” included at runtime.

Any idea where they all are, or how I get them.

    Geoff,
MyEclipse 6.6 is compatible with Eclipse 3.3 and NOT Eclipse 3.4. You should switch to Eclipse 3.3 and give this a shot.

The problem is I was on 3.3 with ME 6.0, but I need to use the latest version of Ecore tools that only works with Eclipse 3.4,so I installed 3.4 into a clean directory and then tried to install ME6.6 as it is the latest version and it is this installation that does not work.

I have since tried to install 6.6 from the update site (not via a local copy) and I get the same problem. That took nearly 6 hours to do as I only have a 512k adsl link and at 485mb it takes a while to download.

Try MyEclipse 7.0 M2. It works with Eclipse 3.4.

    Geoff,
Like Francesc pointed out, you will have to switch to MyEclipse 7.0M2 if you choose to continue using Eclipse 3.4.
