arranbartishMemberHi ,
I’ve been using MyEclipse for years now and i’ve started a new role where I have a limited profile size. (back ups etc)
I’ve installed MyEclipse in the following locations
C:\Java\Genuitec\Common
C:\Java\Genuitec\MyEclipse for Spring 8.6However I still have a directory that is setup every time I start MyEclipse here.
C:\Documents and Settings\<user_profile>\.myeclipse
Which busts my profile limit by about 8MBHow do I configure MyEclipse to put this directory elsewhere?
Thanks,

support-joyMemberarranbartish,
Can you answer the following questions –
1. Can you copy and paste your installation details? Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
2. What is your OS and version?
3. Are you referring to the .myeclipse.properties file located in your [USER-HOME] directory? c:\Documents and Settings\<user_profile>\.myeclipse.properties? If yes, I am afraid this file has to be present in the [USER-HOME] directory, this internally contains the license information. This file is very small and should not cause any issue related to file size.September 26, 2010 at 5:32 pm #311537
arranbartishMemberThanks for the response Joy,
I’ve pasted the installation details and the tree for .myeclipse below for you. The .myeclipse directory itself is approx 21 MB.
Any insight you have would be helpful. I’ve installed plain old eclipse for the moment so that I can move forward which is a shame as I’ve always enjoyed MyEclipse.
Thanks,

davemeurerMemberHello,
One of the reasons the .myeclipse folder is large is due to the flexsdk folder that you’ll find in there. This folder contains a minimum set of files needed to compile flex applications. You can delete this flexsdk folder, but it will be recreated upon restart. So, to answer your original question – to move this folder to another location, go to Windows > Preferences > MyEclipse > Spring Code Generation > Flex, and specify a different location. Then delete the flexsdk location in the .myeclipse folder, and this should get you under quota.
Let me know if this helps.
