The subject pretty much says it all. After installing 3.8.4 my eclipse 3.1M4 installation complains of a configuration error when I use the update facilities or try to manage my configuration. It appeare that the 3.8.4 web development plugin has a dependency on core.resources version 3.0.0. Has anyone found the same problem? Is there a workaround?

    Thanx,
    Allan Clearwaters

Yes, when you get to the Downloads section of the site, click on the “Eclipse 3.1 Downloads” and not the “Eclipse 3.0 Downloads”, the download you want is the “3.8.4 Beta for Eclipse 3.1M4”

That would be a silly error!! The download claims to be 030804_3.1Beta. This is from the link in the 3.1 download area; there is no ‘… for Eclipse 3.1M4’. Is there somewhere else I should get the download you mention??

    Thanx,

It’s the link that has the text you reference, not the download. In any case, I still have the same problem

After checking with the devs about this it seems we forgot to update a features.xml file in the <MyEclipse install dir>\eclipse\features\com.genuitec.myeclipse.wdt.feature_3.8.4 directory to remove the Eclipse 3.0.0 requirement, my appologies

You can either not use the automatic update (the only place that notices the discrepency) or drop this fixed features.xml file into the directory I mentioned above and restart Eclipse with the -clean argument as outlined here: http://www.myeclipseide.com/FAQ+index-myfaq-yes-id_cat-30.html#343
