Will MyEclipse 4.1 have the ability to read in the JSF libraries for the Apache “My Faces”?

These seem to be really well designed, but poorly documented so far, JSF add on libraries.

I hope 4.1 can handle these and that there will be a new JSF tutorial or two covering all the cool new features.

Thanks in advance for your reply.

    M,

We already ship two JSF implementations, the Sun RI and MyFaces. So I don’t think I understand your question. Can you elaborate?

    Hi Scott,

    Ok, I’m probably confused. <s>

When I went to the apache site and looked at MyFaces, I saw tree controls, tab controls, and lots of cool JSF stuff.

Yet, in MyEclipse, in the JSF toolbars, I only see simple controls.

So, my question was will 4.1 let me have these really useful MYFaces controls on my JSF toolbar.

    Thanks in advance.

    M,

Sorry for the confusion. At the moment, the JSF palette supports only the RI widget set, which is also part of MyFaces. However, support for the MyFaces extensions are an open enhancement request we’re planning on covering in a future release, post-4.1. You can still use the extended controls, but you’ll have to do so manually (not with the visual tools). Sorry for the inconvenience.

    Thanks for your reply.

MyEclipse really needs to be a lot more like a real IDE not just a repository for buttons that represent controls. The way it is currently is that I can drag a “control” on to a form (kind of), but then I’m left figuring out all the rest on my own.

    Very little complexity abstracted here.

I hope the productivity improves in 4.1.

    Thanks.
