I am trying to remove all remanence of MyEclipse 5.1.1 and standard updates from my desktop (No add ins). Using the Windows Uninstall, I am able to remove most of the connectivity with the desktop. When I try to remove all the files located under the workbench, it is failing because I am unable to delete two files. The files are:
IContentProposalProvider.java ProposalCreationFactoryAdpater.javaThe files are located under:
<MyEclipseWorkbench>\myeclipse\eclipse\plugins\org.eclipse.jst.jsf_sdk.feature.source_0.5.1.v20060829-OJnpNuKYI7O7SAU\src\org.eclipse.jst.jsf.context.symbol_0.5.0.v20060829\src\org\eclipse\jst\jsf\context\symbol\internal\provisional\providerI thought the files were marked read only, so I checked the properties and insured they were NOT READ ONLY. I tried to drap and drop the files to the wastebasket… I ever tried to open the files…. ALL met with negative results….
MMMmmmmm……….Do we have a rogue developer in the Eclipse Project stack?

You can just erase the MyEclipse install dir then and then manually erase the Start menu group. Nothing else magical going on, pretty straight forward actually.

I bet you, you have a stray Eclipse process that didn’t shut down that either has locks on those files *or* corrupted them. Try and right-click from your explorer window on your C drive (or whatever drive has the files) and go to Tools, then mark the drive to be checked for errors and restart your computer. Let the check finish, then try and remove the files.
mmmmm….. well I did try restarting the box several times before I posted my message………If there was a process hanging onto *.java files, rebooting would have taken care of it……..
Well…..when I renamed the top directory………and deleted it……..it all went away….. must have been the registry……..
