Hello – I’ve installed a clean image of Eclipse SDK 3.3 and MyEcliopse 6.0.1GA on a Linux platform and it runs for few minutes and core dumps. I have read many of the other postings and have been unable to use the pulse installed becuase of our corporate firewall. I did the manual install several times and feel that it is installed correctly but will not run.

I can e-mail my installation log and error report file from the JVM – I’m not sure how to include it in this posting.

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Jim,
You setup looks fine… the only things I can think to suggest are:
    1. Try using 1.5.0_11 specifically, your using _14, but Sun changed some stuff in _12 and later that caused us some problems.

    2. If that doesn’t work, you can try and use the latest 1.6.0 release to run MyEclipse and see if that works.

    Nipun,

I cannot locate a 1.5.0_11 jdk so I loaded the 1.6.0_04 ( latest release) and I get an immediate Java Runtime Exception “unhandled implicit exception in compiled code”

    Jim,
What is your system information? Which distro are you using, 32-bit or 64-bit? How did you install MyEclipse on your machine? What Eclipse install did you use, where did you install it, what about MyEclipse?

What does your command line look like to start MyEclipse?

(I know I stuffed a lot of questions in there, please address each if you can)

Hi Riyad.. I backed up to just trying to get Eclipse 3.3 to work and it was failing also – The problem has been resolved by changing from SUN’s JVM to IBM’s JVM which I loaded from http://ibm.com/developerworks/java/jdk/linux/download.html

    Thanks for your help
