Hi, I have updated to MyEclipse 8.5 recently and installed Subclipse there too. I checked out a project from SVN and tried to deploy it to the server. MyEclipse would give me unspecified errors and would not start after that. Also it messed up my Program Files folder by deploying my web folders there. Other programs on my computer stopped working properly.

I reinstalled OS and installed MyEclipse 8.5 and subclipse again, and the same story repeated, my program files are messed up again.

Please give me recommendation on why is this happening.

    NadiaUgoods,

Can you answer few queries for me?
    1. What is your OS and version?
    2. You mention you have updated to ME 8.5. How did you update? Can you list out the steps in detail? What was the previous version of ME you were using?

Can you list out the errors reported by MyEclipse?

What is your workspace location? What is the type of project? Which server you are using to deploy? Can you attach a screenshot, this will help me get a visual. Also can you clear your .log file located at [your workspace dir]/.metadata/.log. Open .log file. Select all, delete the contents. Save the file. Replicate the steps above. Can you copy and paste the contents of .log file here?

I would recommend you a clean re-install. Do the following –
    1. Run the uninstaller.
    2. Make sure the MyEclipse Install Directory has been completely removed
2.1. Pulse Install Directory, on XP it’s under C:\Program Files in \Pulse or \Genuitec, and on Vista it’s under <USER.HOME>\AppData\Local and then under \Pulse or \Genuitec again
    3. Then make sure the pulse2.locator file under <USER.HOME> is erased as well
    4. Install ME 8.5
Let me know how this works for you.
