I’m trying to install MyEclipse 8.6 and then add PHP Dev Toolkit (PDT) as I frequently flip from Java and PHP — but apparently there’s a conflict with the Javascript Development Tools Core lib.

When I install through MyEclipse+Pulse or Eclipse using MyEclipse as an addon, I get the same series of “Cannot Satisfy Dependency” errors when trying to add PDT to myEclipse 8.6.

Any way around this? as in disabling the one JDT and not the other?

    Software being installed: MyEclipse 8.6 (Profile) 2.0.0.0000000003 (com.poweredbypulse.profile-1015192-rmb-1021612 2.0.0.0000000003)

ME 8.5 works just fine. i’m a little surprised that PHP abilities slipped through this release.

    smartbargains,

Sorry to hear you are running into dependency issues with PDT plugin. I am afraid I cannot reproduce this issue at my end. Can you answer below queries –
    1. Can you copy and paste your installation details? Open MyEclipse IDE, from menu options click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details
    2. Can you open Help > About MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench and verify if your version-id is same as listed below?
    Version: 8.6
    Build id: 8.6-20100806
If not, please open Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center. Choose Dashboard tab. Apply the software updates available. Click on [Apply x changes] button and follow the wizard. When prompted, please choose to restart the IDE.

I have added PDT plugin to ME 8.6. Here is what I did –
    1. Click on Help > MyEclipse Configuration Center
    2. Choose software tab
    3. Search PDT using search textbox
    4. This will list out the softwares.
    5. Add Eclipse PHP IDE (PDT), right click on the software and click on [Add to Profile…]
    6. Click on [Apply 1 change] and follow the wizard. When prompted, choose to restart IDE
    7. To verify, open Help > About MyEclipse Enterprise Workbench and look for PDT plug-in

ahhh ok, that worked. i kept selecting the PDT SDK beneath it from the eclipse site instead of seeing the obvious choice of PHP from the pulse site.

I’m used to using myEclipse as a plugin because for a while, MyEclipse was just too “heavy”. Maybe I’ll spin this configuration around for a while instead…
