support-joyMemberAmir,
Can you list the steps in detail that resulted in the above error. Also can you answer below queries –
1. What is your OS, version?
2. What is your MyEclipse version?
3. Can you copy and paste the contents of myeclipse.ini file here?
4. Delete the contents of the log file located at [your workspace dir]/.metadata/.log. Open the .log file, select all by pressing [Ctrl + a] and delete. Save the file. Next try to reproduce this issue. This will ensure that only relevant issues get logged in the .log file. Can you copy and paste the contents of the .log here?
5. Can you attach a screenshot of Regional and Language options. For windows OS, it is available here – Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional and Language options. Please include screenshots of Regional Options and Advanced tab. You can either [pm] the screenshot or send a mail to support@genuitec.com, please refer to the above weblink and add ATTN:Joy in the subject. This will help in quick tracing.
6. How did you install ME? Meaning all-in-one installer / pulse / archived update site on top of eclipse classic?
Sorry for the inconvenience.August 20, 2010 at 4:40 pm #310766
Bill KeydelMemberJoy,
I’m having a problem installing myEclipse 8.6 similar to Amir. Unfortunately, because I have previous installations of myEclipse and have tried a variety of approaches, I cannot give you a clean log file as requested and I’m not sure the myeclipse.ini file is the correct one. So I’ll provide information moving what is straight forward to what seems unclear.
1. I have a dell latitude D430 runing Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 3
2. I’m trying to install: myEclipse 8.6; I currently have myEclipse 7.0 installed an working fine
3. …
4. …
5. Will send the requested screen shots along in an email. After seeing this thread, I checked the language and regions settings; they were English/US. Then I changed them to German/German and rebooted. Then I changed them back to English/US, rebooted and tried the install again; that install attempt seemed to fail in the same way as my other attempts.
6. Installing from myeclipse-8.6.0-win32.exe. Also tried the all-in-one installer from the website. I did run md5sums.exe against myeclipse-8.6.0-win32.exe and got the expected hash value. So the somewhat confusing part. I looked at the existing log file that myEclipse 7.0 is writing to and found errors which I believe are unrelated to the install process (company SVN could not be accessed while working from home type errors). Even so, I backed it up and cleared it out as requested. Then I attempted to upgrade by executing the downloaded myeclipse-8.6.0-win32.exe file while taking the screen shots requested in item 5. As expected the process failed but the log file contains nothing. I’m not sure where else to look. The explorer-0.log in C:\Program Files\Genuitec\Common\logs contains one error msg

…I have to think that the myeclipse.ini file which I can find is the one for the myEclipse 7.0 install.
Please advise where I should look for the 8.6 install logs and myeclipse.ini file.
Thanks
Bill

Bill KeydelMemberDespite cleaning out all the install files, the all-in-one installer continued to fail (downloaded from: http://www.myeclipseide.com/module-htmlpages-display-pid-4.html).
However using the Pulse installer did work (all previous install files: myEclipse/Genuitec/Pulse were removed first). Instructions for this approach at:
https://www.genuitec.com/forums/topic/installation-how-to-install-myeclipse-from-pulse/&highlight=&sid=c71dedc6bd8fc022837f4446f98291ebAugust 31, 2010 at 1:09 am #310986
support-joyMemberBill,
Thank you for posting the workaround solution here.
Best.
