george4motionMemberI was getting out of memory errors when working in the MyEclipse Blue IDE (on Windows) so decided I would try my hand at editing the .ini file, something I’ve done with success a half dozen to ten times in other versions of Eclipse. However when I did so all that would happen is that the splash screen would show for a second or two and then disappear without otherwise indicating any kind of error.
Maybe I was over-confident and didn’t back up my original file but it was just one setting I changed (-Xmx) and have since reset it to the original value with the same result: the splash screen shows for a second or two then disappears. I’m completely confident that I have all the correct settings above -vmargs (otherwise I wouldn’t even get the splash screen) and have also reconstructed the .ini file based on a co-workers file.
See below for my .ini settings. I’ve read other topics and the -clean option does not help. Please I need other suggestions thanks.
#utf8 (do not remove)
-startup

–launcher.library

george4motionMemberPerhaps the workspace got corrupted as a result of the out of memory error? It’s an explanation for why now when we use an a new, empty workspace the IDE launches. So the issue is solved but unfortunately we are left with lots of re-work to get the workspace set up again.
support-swapnaModeratorHi,
Sorry that you are seeing this issue.
If you are working with a large workspace, then you should increase the -Xmx value to a higher value based on the size of your workspace. It looks like the workspace is corrupted.
1. Can you please try starting MyEclipse with -clean and see if it fixes the workspace ?
2. If the above does not fix the issue, then close the IDE,delete the folder <workspace dir>\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.e4.workbench and start the IDE.
3. Which version of MyEclipse are you working with ?
I recommend you update to our latest version, MyEclipse 2015 CI 7 .You can download MyEclipse 2015 CI 7 from here and install it to a different location alongside your existing MyEclipse installation.Let us know how it works for you.
