I have installed eclipse-3.0 in my machine. I tried to configure Myeclipse-4.0 with eclipse. But i am not finding the Software Updates (Help -> Software Updates -> Manage Configuration) option under eclipse Help menu.

Can you tell me the reason why this option is not available in eclipse IDE. Do i need to do any thing to get it enabled?

This sounds like an installation issue. Make sure you are using Eclipse 3.0 or 3.1 SDK, and not the Platform/RCP or JDT downloads, you need the entire SDK. We would suggest Eclipse 3.1 over 3.0 at this point.
