I experienced a crash of the MyEclipse IDE when I opened an html file and selected the preview tab.

After searching forums and faq (not helpful) I played with MyEclipse IDE settings and discovered

Preferences->MyEclipse->Files and Editors->HTML->Visual Desginer

This dialog has a Preview Modes section – all three options are checked.

Internet Explorer (Windows Only) – if this is UNCHECKED, the html preview no longer crashes MyEclipse on OS X.

Would be nice if any Windows only features could be disabled upon installation on the OS X platform.

Hope this saves some others some time.

Can you please paste your Installation Summary here for me (MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details)?

Also, does the IDE crash when you open a paticular HTML file or it crashes for all html files ?

I’ll make a note of this and let the dev team know about this.

I have posted my Installation details below.

I tested the behavior with 3 different html files (default html’s that ship with OS X in the \Users\<user>\Site dir and \Library\WebServer\ ) and I checked / unchecked the setting to validate my claim below.
