paulinenathaliewardMemberHi
I have installed MyEclipse but then when I run Eclipse, none of the MyEclipse features seem to be available. The MyEclipse menu does appear. However I have the following problems:
– the button for Tomcat startup and shutdown does not appear.
– Also when I right-click in Package Explorer and go to New… Project… in the “Select a Wizard” dialogue none of the MyEclipse wizards appear.
– In Window… Open perspective… Other… the MyEclipse J2EE perspective does not appear. Only the MyEclipse Image Editor appears.
I have installed Eclipse Europa and MyEclipse 5.5.1 on Windows Vista Home Premium. I’m running the program as administrator. I’ve tried installing the MyEclipse full stack and then also doing it as a manual install, separate from Eclipse, but I still get the same problem 🙁
Any suggestions please? Thanks.

Scott AndersonParticipantPauline,
I’m sorry to hear that this has been problematic. Occasionally the Eclipse plugin cache can get messed up and needs to be reset. I’d suggest trying
that first. Instructions on doing that are in the FAQ entry here.I’m hopeful that will help, but I must say that would be unlikely to be the issue across so many installations. If the above doesn’t work, let’s just focus on the install you did with the 5.5.1 all-in-one installer (full stack). And for that installation can you provide us with the information we request here.
If that doesn’t do it, please let us know.

paulinenathaliewardMemberHi Scott
Adding -clean has done the trick. That’s wonderful, thanks very much.

Loyal WaterMemberGuy,
There are some known rendering issues on the 64 bit OS and I guess you’ll are running into those right now. There is no workaround for this issue at the moment. Sorry about that.December 13, 2007 at 5:04 pm #279666
Guillaume ROMAGNYMemberHi,
I have tried a milestone of Eclipse 3.4 & winxp amd64 and it seems to fix the issues of Eclipse.
I would like to know if you plan a alpha/beta of myeclipse with Eclipse 3.4, please.
Best regards,
Guillaume

Guillaume ROMAGNYMemberHi,
or, at least, is there any trick to force the install of myeclipse on Eclipse 3.4 to test ?
December 14, 2007 at 10:59 am #279689
Loyal WaterMember6.0.1 isn’t compatible with 3.4 officially. If you want to try and shoe-horn one ontop of the other… you are welcome to try, but we don’t support it.
MyEclipse 7.0 will be on 3.4 but we dont have any date set for that release yet.

Guillaume ROMAGNYMemberFor testers information :
I tried to install but most of the features are not working. Especially Matisse just cannot install with 3.4.
I have installed VirtualBox virtualisation tool (free edition) and a 32bit linux virtual machine (ubuntu 710 desktop), then MyEclipse, ok I am happy (I have 4 GB of RAM)

wm. bruce shonerMemberI am running two machines, one with Vista32 SP1 and the other is Vista64. I run all most all of my java based tools in “Compatibility Mode”.
Right Click your MyEclipse shortcut, select PROPERTIES
click the COMPATIBILITY tab
check the “Run this program in compatibility mode for:”
select “Windows XP (Service Pack 2)”
click OKI have also hunted down all the various JRE/JDK exe’s and have done this to them also.
This has fixed a lot of problems and stablity issues. I don’t know if it will fix the issues you guys are having, but I believe it’s worth trying.
