I am running eclipse 2.1.0, and I was running myEclipse version 2.5. I recently tried to upgrade to version myEclipse 2.7.1. When I installed it, I used the first method (uninstall/start-stop eclipse/reinstall) and when I restarted eclipse, I got a window which said that an update was invlaid and had to be removed.

One (sort of) complicating factor is that the eclipse installation we use is in a copy that is pulled in from a “master”, so my ability to do things like upgrade the eclipse installation, is limited.

NOTE: I am suggesting a reinstall of Eclipse below, so take precautions necessary (or ask questions) if you need to preserve certain things.

Can you try this (backup any settings you want to keep, or preferences):
1) Remove MyEclipse
2) Remove Eclipse
3) Move your workspace someplace else so Eclipse will create a new one
4) Reinstall Eclipse from the Master server
5) Run Eclipse, let it finish the Install, then close it
6) Install MyEclipse
7) Start Eclipse again, let it finish the install of MyEclipse, it will restart Eclipse.
8) Go to Window > Preferences and reimport all your settings
9) Restart Eclipse for good measure

Did that work? Is everything playing nice with eachother? I’m wondering if there is stale plugin state in your workspace and that is why I had you clear it. You can reimport your projects from your old workspace to get them back again.

Also there have been roughly 330 bugs fixed in Eclipse since the 2.1.0 release, maybe the Master copy could be updated? (We’ve helped a few people that had problems that were fixed by upgrading).

Essentially I did that, when I didn’t get a response within a day or two… Reinstalling eclipse, followed by myeclipse worked.

We appologize for that, I just noticed there was a lapse of 5 days between your post and our reply, we always shoot for same-day replies unless we flat out loose a post (it isn’t marked as new when we login, so its not obvious to us).
