    Hi,

I installed Myeclipse x86_64 on my machine. Fedora 10.

    # java -version
    java version “1.6.0_11”
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_11-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 11.0-b16, mixed mode)

    # alternatives –display java
    java – status is manual.
    link currently points to /opt/jre1.6.0_11/bin/java
    …etc etc etc

I have tried as root and a user and no matter what I try the IDE seems to fire up ok, but various panels, for instance on last startup “Server” tab results in a nullpointerexception.

    Basically the IDE is unusable.

    ./myeclipse -Dlinux.experimental=true

also does not seem to work.

Any suggestions to what I am doing wrong?

    Thanks

    James

    James,

Can you please answer few queries for me to get to the root cause?
    1. How did you install MyEclipse? Meaning using all-in-one installer / using pulse / using archived update site?
    2. Can you copy and paste your installation details? You can get it from MyEclipse IDE menu optiions, click on MyEclipse > Installation Summary > Installation Details.
    3. Have you installed any 3rd party plugins? If yes, can you list them out for me? You can get it from Help > Software Updates > Add/Remove Software
    4. Can you attach your log files? Pulse log files are located at ~\Genuitec\Common\Logs and MyEclipse log files are located at [your workspace dir]/.metadata/.log
    5. Can you list out the steps in detail where you find the IDE is an issue? If you can attach screenshots of the same, it would be a good help.
You can [PM] me the attachments. Or send a mail to support@genuitec.com with the above details. Please add ATTN:Joy in the subject and refer to this post link, this will help me in tracking.
    Sorry for the inconvinience.

    James,
This is mostly a known issue and here is the workaround.

Can you please let me know if the problem persists after going through this FAQ.
