    Hello :
I just installed Eclipse 3.2.1 and a bunch of plugins like Maven, etc. Then I downloaded MyEclipse 5.0.1 zip file,
and installed it via ‘Software Updates’, pointing to the downloaded archive.
    The OS is windows XP.

I don’t see ‘MyEclipse’ in the list of items under window->preferences.
Has that changed in 5.0 ?

    Here are the window->preferences I see :
    (General, Ant, App servers, Bugzilla,
DB Explorer, Editors, Help, Install/Update, Internet tools,
    J2EE Project, Java, Matisse4MyEclipse/Swing, Maven2,PluginDev,
Proj capabilities, Run/debug, Server, Subscription, Tapestry,
    Team, UML, Validation, Web&xml, xdoclet).

In my other Eclipse installation (3.1.0), it shows between Maven2 and PluginDev.

‘MyEclipse’ does, however, show up in the top menu bar, as usual, between Project and Run.

    Is my installation faulty ?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Des,

If you don’t see MyEclipse in the preference tree, you do have a bad installation.
I’m not sure how you installed it – but I assume you downloaded the Manual MyEclipse .zip file.

You need to uncompress this zip and then point Eclipse to the location of the eclipse folder you just uncompressed – there are more detailed installation instructions in the manual-install.html file, which is also in the zip file.

Let us know if you require further assitance,
    Best,
    Brian.
